Empowering Women in Business

Our Women in Business Conference is one of our most popular and well-received events, held annually to celebrate, connect, and support women across the region.

Each year, the conference brings together women from a wide range of industries and career stages to share experiences, knowledge, and perspectives that have shaped their professional journeys. It provides a welcoming space for open conversation, honest reflection, and valuable connections that continue beyond the event itself.

The day begins with breakfast and networking, giving delegates the opportunity to connect with peers before moving into a programme of interactive panel discussions. These sessions explore topics that matter to women in business today, from navigating leadership and making confident decisions under pressure, to understanding the expectations of younger generations and building networks that not only connect people, but actively support growth and progression.

Throughout the conference, keynote speakers share their personal stories and professional experiences, offering candid reflections on the challenges they have faced and the resilience, confidence, and support networks that contributed to their success.

With opportunities to network, learn from experienced leaders, and take part in meaningful discussion, the Women in Business Conference continues to be a valued platform for connection, collaboration, and professional development across the region.

Testimonials

  • “I think it's brilliant. For me, it’s about showing that it’s okay to be nervous, we all are, some of us are just more practised. It’s important for the younger generation to see that. Step out of your comfort zone, that’s how you develop. It’s empowering, there’s real camaraderie, and it shows what we can achieve together.

    Sam Foster, Yorkshire Talent Partners

  • It’s one of its kind in Doncaster - bringing lots of women together. These are conversations that wouldn’t normally happen. Women can feel isolated, juggling families and responsibilities outside of work, so they don’t always get the chance to speak freely and focus on their careers. This gives them that space to connect with others who understand and have a lot going on too.

    Linsday Atkins, Clarks Vehicle Conversions

  • The conference brings women together in a safe space to be open and share challenges, successes and experiences. The day is made up of panel discussions on issues affecting women in business, keynote speakers, and conversations, alongside time to connect, network and learn from each other.

    Amelia Banful, Enviro Electronics

  • I think it’s really important to showcase that women are big players in business and want to be. There’s a real culture shift happening, women are powerful, strong leaders and we’ve got a voice, and it’s an important one. There’s also a shift with young women in business, people have career aspirations, want clear progression, and that needs support and flexibility from employers.

    Morgan Powell, HMP Moorland

  • I think it’s important to empower each other, look at different generations of women in employment, and how we work our businesses together. It’s also about connecting, getting out, having conversations, and thinking about what we can do to make our community better.
