Made it in Doncaster

Our Made It In Doncaster video series aims to raise aspirations through telling the stories of inspirational people who have lived or worked in Doncaster.

Choosing a job Made it in Doncaster

The project features professionals who work in Doncaster's current and future key industries and sectors. Each video brings awareness to both the variety of professional roles that are out there and pathways into them.

To make your life easier, we've created resources aimed at different age groups including lesson plans, an assembly plan and ways to incorporate these videos into different times of the school day.

We always encourage you to adapt and amend our content as you see fit to reflect your school's values and ethos.

We understand that timetabling can be complex task. Introducing a new concept into your already jam-packed curriculum isn't easy, especially when you're busy with things like SATs preparation!

Current recommendations suggest that careers-related education is most effective with years 5 and 6, but in line with recent research, we've made sure all the resources in our teaching pack are adaptable for all KS2 pupils.

Reaching older students can sometimes be a challenge. That's why we've created resources to help you engage them with the world of work and introduce them to inspiring local people.

These resources can easily be adapted for students from KS3 and KS4. We've also included some ideas for how videos can be integrated into different parts of the school day.

Each video brings awareness to both the variety of professional roles that are out there and pathways into them.

A student interviews an inspirational figure from Doncaster who tells the story of their career journey. Their answers are candid and offer an insight into the Alumni's personal development and resilience.
