South Yorkshire’s exporters to plot global growth at major regional conference

Businesses from across South Yorkshire will gather in Sheffield this month for a day dedicated to international trade growth, as the South Yorkshire International Trade Conference returns on Tuesday 22 September. Organised in partnership by Sheffield Chamber, Doncaster Chamber, and Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber, the event brings together over 150 exporters, first-time traders and international trade specialists.

The conference, held at the Millennium Gallery in Sheffield, will cover practical guidance on selling to the world, from navigating customs and emerging free trade agreements to finding new markets and building overseas partnerships. Speakers include Oliver Coppard, Mayor of South Yorkshire; Anne-Marie Martin and Steven Lynch MBE from the British Chambers of Commerce; and leading international trade experts.

South Yorkshire's three chambers support hundreds of international trade movements each year through export documentation and training services and say global trade remains one of the biggest untapped growth opportunities for the region's firms, especially as the national economy tightens.

"South Yorkshire's story has always been one of connections - rail, road and soon, once again, air. Exporting is the natural next chapter for many of our firms, and the evidence is clear that businesses that trade internationally are more productive, more resilient and grow faster. This conference is about giving every company in South Yorkshire, whatever its size, the confidence and the contacts to take that step." - Dan Fell MBE, Chief Executive of Doncaster Chamber

The day includes dedicated networking breaks, an exhibition of specialist trade support organisations, and a networking lunch from 1:00pm. The conference concludes at approximately 2:00pm.

Tickets and the full programme are available via the Doncaster Chamber website.
