Community Collaboration Drives Cleaner, More Vibrant Doncaster

Doncaster Chamber of Commerce takes on a community-driven approach to creating a cleaner, more welcoming city through their annual Keeping Doncaster Tidy event.

Taking place on 29th April and hosted in collaboration with the City of Doncaster Council, the event aims to bring together businesses from across Doncaster to clean up the areas they work in every day. The hands-on initiative focuses on tackling litter starting the Eco-Power Stadium and Lakeside’s Business Hub to allow Doncaster to thrive. The event showcases the commitment of Doncaster's business community to tackling the areas holding back the full potential of the city.

Mayor Ros Jones, Mayor of Doncaster said: “Keeping Doncaster Tidy is a powerful example of what we can achieve when the city comes together with a shared purpose. Our businesses, partners and communities’ continuous commitment shows that everyone has a part to play in creating a cleaner, greener and more welcoming city for all.”

The Chamber is mobilising the city’s networks and collective resources to create a lasting impact. This event aligns closely with the Chamber's long-term ambitions to advocating for a stronger, greener, and more vibrant city.

Damian Allen, Chief Executive of City of Doncaster Council, said: “This initiative demonstrates the strength of Doncaster’s partnerships and the commitment we all share to looking after our borough. By joining forces with local businesses, we can make a meaningful and visible difference to our environment. Keeping Doncaster Tidy not only enhances our public spaces but also builds community spirit and reinforces the message that Doncaster is a place where collaboration truly delivers results.”

Businesses across the region are already showing their support, including Rapid Relief Team, who will be providing refreshments throughout the day. The event offers a relaxed, open networking environment where likeminded organisations can naturally connect and collaborate.

By taking part, local businesses help to enhance the quality of shared workspaces and boost the wider appeal of the city. It supports a cleaner, more welcoming environment for everyone who lives, works, and invests locally, setting a strong example and inspiring wider collective action.

Dan Fell MBE, CEO of Doncaster Chamber Comments: “I’m delighted to see the business community coming together again for this year’s litter pick. It’s a simple but powerful way for teams to use their volunteer days, get out into the community and make a visible difference to the place we’re all proud to call home. Events like this showcase Doncaster’s fantastic civic spirit and our shared commitment to keeping the city clean, welcoming and vibrant.”

Sponsorship opportunities for this event remain available, and Doncaster Chamber strongly encourage businesses to get involved.
