That’s why, in partnership with the Mayor of Doncaster and the City of Doncaster Council, we are proud to deliver the Mayor’s Business Advisory Group - a new, high-level forum that places business insight at the core of local decision-making.

A Voice for Business

As Doncaster enters a pivotal phase of regeneration and economic transformation, it’s essential that local employers help shape what comes next — from the reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport to skills investment, city centre revitalisation, and major infrastructure programmes like Gateway One.

The Mayor’s Business Advisory Group provides a direct, influential route for business leaders to engage with Doncaster’s civic leadership and contribute to the borough’s strategic direction.

About the Group

The Group is:

• Chaired by Dan Fell, Chief Executive of Doncaster Chamber

• Attended by the Mayor of Doncaster and the Council’s Chief Executive

• Composed of a diverse mix of local business leaders from key sectors including logistics, manufacturing, digital, retail, creative industries, infrastructure, education, and the voluntary sector

It exists to:

• Provide strategic advice and challenge on Doncaster’s key economic priorities

• Represent the voice of employers from across the borough

• Help shape policy on business support, skills, infrastructure and investment

• Promote sustainable, inclusive growth that benefits the entire community

Key Priorities

In its first year, the Group will focus on:

• Reopening and development of Doncaster Sheffield Airport

• Revitalisation of town and city centres

• Improving the local business support and inward investment offer

• Driving inclusive growth through better education and skills provision

• Supporting major developments like Gateway One and the AI Growth Zone

• Co-producing a new economic narrative for Doncaster
