Health and the Economy

At Doncaster Chamber, we believe that the health of our community and the strength of our economy are deeply interconnected. A thriving economy depends on a healthy, resilient workforce and organisations that prioritise wellbeing. By focusing on Health and the Economy, we aim to support businesses in creating environments where people can flourish, innovate, and contribute their best. This approach not only improves quality of life but also drives productivity, sustainable growth, and a competitive advantage for Doncaster’s economy as a whole.

A new survey has been launched to understand the pressures facing Doncaster’s business leaders, as the city prepares for the 2025 Team Doncaster Summit, which will focus on the theme of Health and the Economy.

Led by Doncaster Chamber in collaboration with Team Doncaster partners, the short survey aims to capture honest insights into how local leaders are managing stress, mental health and resilience in the current climate.

From financial uncertainty to long hours, recruitment pressures and the emotional weight of leadership, the survey explores the real-world impact of these challenges on individuals running businesses and services across the borough. It also asks what kind of support leaders would value most in order to sustain their wellbeing and continue contributing to Doncaster’s economic growth.

Dan Fell, Chief Executive of Doncaster Chamber, said:

“Leadership can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also come at a personal cost. We want to ensure that the lived experience of leaders in our city is reflected in this year’s Summit and, more importantly, in the long-term support available to them. This survey is a chance for people to speak openly and shape the future direction of the conversation.”

The findings will help inform the content of the Team Doncaster Summit, which Dan is guest editing this year, taking place on 10 October, including keynote themes, panel discussions and breakout sessions.

The survey is completely anonymous and takes no more than three minutes to complete.
