What is a Careers Fair?
Not a pen collecting exercise! Opportunities Doncaster wants to dispel the opinion that students walk around a variety of businesses and simply collect freebies. Our careers fairs are fun and interactive and a great way for you to showcase the best your business has to offer. Come armed with information for them to take away on career opportunities within your sector and ready to answer questions which students will have had the time to think about prior to the event. We also ask for you to have an activity or mini workshop prepared for them to engage with. Encouraging students to think outside the box about potential career opportunities, Careers Fairs take place within a school and can vary in length of time.
Why should I offer one?
Whilst students may be aware of your industry, they might not fully understand the different career paths they could take or the job opportunities available. Discussions with employers allows them to gain an insight in to how you got there and what they could do to follow in your footsteps. Helping to raise their aspirations and awareness of potential future careers whilst also being able to provide information that they can take home and discuss with their families. The activities they take part in also help to highlight the different transferable skills needed within the workplace.

Doncaster Chamber Event Terms and Conditions
All event bookings must be paid in full prior to attending.
All events are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Doncaster Chamber reserves the right to cancel any event without notice and without reason, therefore any monies paid will be refunded in full.
Waiting List – please note that all events have a maximum capacity. Once this is reached you can still register and be entered onto a waiting list. If we have any cancellations these spaces will automatically be allocated to the waiting list in order of booking.
No show policy – please note that we now operate a no-show policy. If a member does not attend two events in succession without notifying the Chamber, they will not be permitted to book onto an event for the next 30 days. Please always try to let us know if you cannot attend an event so that we can allocate your space to another member on the waiting list.
Photos are taken at many of our Chamber events and used for promotional purposes. If you do not want to be included in photos please speak to a member of Chamber team at the event you’re attending.
