Success for Fellowes UK Staff in the Trailwalker ChallengeSeptember 27, 2019
There was no weekend off for two teams representing Fellowes Brands as they successfully completed a non-stop 100km trek across the South Downs Way in the gruelling Trailwalker Challenge, which took place between Petersfield in Hampshire and Brighton Racecourse, 20th to 23rd September.
Reaching the finishing line in 28 and 29 hours respectively, the teams had to endure soaring temperatures of up to 25 degrees centigrade on the Saturday, followed by torrential overnight rain, whilst conquering undulating terrain, painful blisters and extreme fatigue.
But despite these rigours, all eight walkers and their support teams reached their goal – and, in doing so, came within touching distance of raising £10,000 for Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust.
The aptly named Good Fellowes and Felloweship of the Trail teams consisted of Fellowes employees from the sales, marketing, IT, production and customer services departments – as well as a couple of friends and associates.
In recognition of the teams’ successful achievement, Fellowes UK & Ireland Sales & Marketing Director, Darryl Brunt, said: ‘’ Everyone has shown so much courage, grit and determination and taken team building onto another level. They all deserve so much praise, along with our sponsors, who I wish to thank most sincerely for their generous financial support for such a worthy cause.’’
