Handelsbanken Doncaster has appointed two new Corporate Banking Managers and a Corporate Development Manager in response to increasing demand for its local relationship banking services.

Steve Matthews and Tom Wadsworth join the local relationship bank as Corporate Banking Managers with over 35 years of combined banking experience. They will be involved in developing existing customer relationships as well as welcoming new customers to Handelsbanken’s bespoke approach to local banking. Steven Pye also joins the team with 7 years of experience and will support the corporate banking team.

A strong focus on long-term relationships and high levels of personal service has seen the Bank rated top for customer satisfaction 11 years running in an independent survey of British banks’ personal and business customers*. Branches are responsible for making all day-to-day banking decisions based solely on their customers' requirements, free from product and lending targets or bonus incentives.

The branch, established in 2007 and located at Thorpe House, Sidings Court, Lakeside Doncaster, has developed a reputation for traditional banking, financial strength and high standards within the local business and professional services community.

     Sarah Smith, Branch Manager, added:
“I am very pleased to welcome Steve, Tom and Steven and their substantial experience to our team.  Their appointment means that we can continue to meet the growing needs of both existing and new customers in Doncaster whilst maintaining the high levels of service for which we are renowned.”

Originally from Sweden, Handelsbanken now has approximately 750 branches in 19 countries and has been named the joint top-scoring commercial bank in Global Finance's ranking of the World's Safest Banks 2019**. In the UK, where it has established its wholly-owned UK subsidiary, the Bank supports customers in over 200 communities across the country.

At a time when strength and stability is of particular importance to customers, the Bank enjoys amongst the highest credit ratings of any international bank***. This reflects Handelsbanken's strong financial position, long-term focus and prudent, consistent approach to banking through all economic conditions.

In August 2019, Handelsbanken was named the most recommended provider for SME banking by the Competition and Markets Authority's Independent Service Quality Survey for business banking, for the third time. The Bank was ranked top in four of the five categories identified by the survey - with 85% of SME banking customers saying they would be extremely or very likely to recommend Handelsbanken to other SMEs for its overall service quality****.

Handelsbanken was also named Best Private Bank 2018 at the FT and Investors Chronicle Investment & Wealth Management Awards. This is the sixth time it has received the accolade for its customer-led approach to banking and wealth management*****.
