98 per cent of Doncaster children offered place at preferred primary schoolApril 22, 2019Doncaster has maintained an excellent record of securing a preferred school place for primary school children.
98 per cent of children across Doncaster have been offered a place at one of their preferred schools and 95.7 per cent of children will attend their first preferred school. Out of 3155 applications, there were only 70 children who did not receive one of their preferred schools. All of these children have been offered a place at an alternative local school.
The Council has also received a high level of applications made online, with 93 per cent of this year’s applications being made electronically on the council’s website.
Councillor Nuala Fennelly, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Schools, said: “These primary school admission figures will be good news to thousands of families across Doncaster as many children start the next academic year at one of their preferred schools.”
