Cementation welcomes new managing directorMarch 19, 2019Cementation has appointed Jamie Dunbar as its new managing director. He brings 34 years of experience and commitment to Skanska UK’s piling and foundations business which makes him ideally placed to lead the business on the next stage of its journey.
Jamie started his Cementation career as a graduate engineer. Since then he has worked in all operating areas of Cementation, and has held responsibility for plant, business improvement and the operation of Bentley Works in Doncaster. He has been Operations Director and a member of its Senior Leadership Team since 2009. This promotion to Managing Director is testament to the company’s strong succession planning and commitment to promoting from within.
He succeeds Jon Morris, who remains a key member of the Cementation Senior Leadership Team, as its new Engineering Director.
Since plans for the sale of Cementation were announced last year, Jamie has been leading on the sales process. It is a profitable and successful company that posted excellent financial results in 2018. The operating unit is delivering many exciting projects across the UK, including marine piling at London City Airport. The Cementation team is also working with the Skanska Costain Strabag joint venture in preparation for HS2.
Says Jamie: “I’m so proud to become Managing Director of this great business. Our priorities, strategy and Senior Leadership Team remains the same. I’m delighted that Jon continues to bring his strategic thinking and vast engineering capability to our business in his new role.
