Doncaster arts charity receives generous donations from local supportersDecember 05, 2019darts (Doncaster Community Arts) has received generous funding from local businesses and organisations, which will support transformative creative activity with Doncaster residents.
The Doncaster arts charity, which is based on South Parade, have recently been given a number of new donations from Golder Associates, Rotary Club of Doncaster St. Leger and One Stop Shop Carriers for Causes.
The funds will support a variety of creative programmes including All Aboard, darts’ programme for disabled children and their families which promotes independence, offers exciting creative activities and provides opportunities for children and young people to express themselves.
All Aboard supports over 120 disabled children and young people each year to engage in a wide range of art forms including sculpture, DJing, drama, drumming, music technology and visual arts.
The Rotary Club of Doncaster St. Leger is supporting darts’ work around mental health. Engaging in regular, positive creative activity can have a hugely positive impact on people’s health and wellbeing and darts has many stories detailing how attending sessions such as Creative Directions has really turned people’s lives around:
“I’ve tried Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, counselling, anti-depressants and nothing has worked until now…this is the only thing that works for me.” Creative Directions participant.
Sophy Sylvester, Head of Fundraising, said, “We really couldn’t develop and deliver the work that we do without the support of these fantastic funders.
“They enable us to inspire, develop, captivate, empower and ultimately make a huge difference to people’s lives.
“We’re very grateful to all three organisations for their support and look forward to building relationships with them in the future”.Contact:Adrian Horan, Communications Officer01302 341662
