Businesses surveyed on Doncaster UTC requirementsDecember 04, 2018Doncaster University Technological College will be a distinctive school led by employers to provide an innovative and engaging learning environment and unique learning experience. This will equip young people with the education and qualifications required for future success and will create pathways into university or higher levels of education and to the most significant areas of growth in employment, locally, nationally and internationally.
The UTC will deliver a core curriculum based around STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects, with an opportunity for learners to select units focused towards advanced engineering or digital design if they wish.
Everything students learn is connected to the world of work. The UTC will grow a sustainable pool of high quality candidates for Doncaster’s key technology and engineering industries to select from. Doncaster UTC is partnered with many business in Doncaster.
The UTC sterring group wants to grow that network of organisations and will spend their next phase of development doing so. In addition to this, they will also work with partners to identify what businesses need from young people. This part of the work is essential to ensure that an effective curriculum is created and that the building design meets those requirements.
Therefore, local businesses are being asked to complete a survey to ensure the UTC incorporate as many of businesses' requirements as possible within the focus of the College's specialisms (advanced engineering and digital design).
