• Mech FS leads the way for Doncaster students

Doncaster based mechanical and electrical engineering company, Mech FS, is leading the way with their support for the workforce of tomorrow as headline sponsor for Opportunities Doncaster LIVE.
Opportunities Doncaster LIVE is a flagship event designed to engage and inspire local students to choose their career pathway. It takes place on 13 February 2020, with over 100 business and education providers showcasing the learning and career opportunities they offer to over 3,000 young people from all Doncaster secondary schools and other primary schools and colleges.
Doncaster Chamber Chief Operating Officer, Andy Hibbitt, explains:
“It’s fantastic to welcome Mech FS on board as our headline sponsor, along with our range of other sponsors who have all shown real commitment to developing and growing relationships between local business and education.”

“Opportunities Doncaster LIVE takes place on 13 February and will be an exciting careers event like no other ever seen in the borough. Lasting partnerships between business and schools are paramount for the ongoing success of Opportunities Doncaster so we can continue to show young people the breadth of opportunities that are available across the borough. These include apprenticeships and work placements, which offer a stepping stone into career paths ranging from zoo-keeping to air traffic control.”

Paul Sutherland, CEO of Mech FS explains why they wanted to get involved:

“The future construction model is changing and only by embracing the enthusiasm and determination of young people will Mech FS be ready. Being an old Hatfield High student I think, thanks to the council and the chamber, we can provide the pathway for the next generation.
“As a local company we know just how important it is to have employees with the right skills for our business. By sponsoring Opportunities Doncaster LIVE we’re taking that one step further and linking with Doncaster schools and students, our workforce of tomorrow - we want to inspire them to help make the most of their future career opportunities.“
A number of other local businesses have also sponsored the event, including:
    • Boxes and Packaging
    • Clarks Vehicle Conversions
    • DN Colleges Group
    • Lightforge Academy
    • The National College for Advanced Transport and Infrastructure
    • Unipart Rail
