Festive fun, offers and free parking to encourage people to shop in DoncasterNovember 28, 2019A wonderful selection of entertainment and offers are being lined up throughout December to encourage residents and visitors to experience Doncaster this Christmas.
The council’s Visit Doncaster team, along with MAM Doncaster Markets team, have helped organise dozens of festive activities the whole family will love and enjoy and with free parking offers available, local residents can have a great time and get all their shopping done in Doncaster this Christmas time.
Highlights include the Mrs Claus Kitchen and Naughty Elf Workshop, the Christmas Kitchen, Christmas Jumper Day, a two-day Christmas Market and lots of music, fun and entertainment during the day and into the evening at the Wool Market and in the town centre.
There will be free afternoon parking from Monday 2 December to Friday 3 January 2020 from 2pm at the Markets Car Park, St George’s Car Park and Colonnades Underground Car Park.
There is also free parking every Saturday in December at Chappell Drive Car Park.
Peter Dale, Director of Economy and Environment, said: “We have a packed programme of entertainment and free parking offers throughout December to entice people to come into Doncaster town centre to shop and enjoy a spectacular Christmas experience.
“We are also promoting events and initiatives right across the borough to encourage people to buy local this Christmas. We are committed to supporting our business community and showcasing what Doncaster has to offer this festive season for local residents and visitors.”
The Visit Doncaster team has been working closely with Market Asset Management, who operate Doncaster Markets, and other partners to bring people these Countdown to Christmas events.
