Doncaster businesses to open their doors during Doncaster Careers WeekJanuary 28, 2020
Local businesses Age UK Doncaster, Boxes and Packaging and Cementation Skanska are set to open their doors during Doncaster Careers Week (10-14 February) to showcase the range of career opportunities available to local people. These “Introduction to…” evenings are just one type of career-focused event taking place throughout the first Doncaster Careers Week, which aims to underscore the importance of quality careers education and equip young people with the right skills, knowledge and experience to succeed in the modern workplace.
Andy Hibbitt, Chief Operating Officer at Doncaster Chamber said: “Young people should be educated, informed and inspired by the wide range of career opportunities open to them and have a clear understanding about the pathways into those careers.
Through Doncaster Careers Week, we can help them understand the choices that are open to them. The “Introduction to…” events cover a range of Doncaster’s key sectors and are a valuable opportunity to find out about potential career paths.
This not only benefits them, but also employers across the borough who rely on having access to talented people with the right skills. It’s the perfect chance for employers to engage with potential applicants, to talk about apprenticeships, vacancies, training schemes or work placements.”
The events are open to students, their parents/carers and other members of the wider community who are considering a career in the Health and Social Care, Manufacturing and Construction industries. Places are limited and can be booked through the Opportunities Doncaster website: https://www.opportunitiesdoncaster.co.uk/events/?d=2020-02
