Doncaster’s hospice is looking for businesses to give it a helping hand by supporting local folk who want to take part in fund-raising activities.
Currently anyone wanting to take part in a fund-raising event such as parachute jumping to raise money for the Balby-based St John’s Hospice has to either foot the bill themselves or take the cash out of the money they raise.
Now the hospice is hoping local businessmen and women will back them by offering to support fund-raising dare devils.
Lindsey Richards, St John’s Hospice Fund-raiser, said: “It would be a huge help if we could get the support of local businesses to sponsor events that our supporters enter. These can be anything from parachute jumps, walking on hot coals to marathon running. It then means every penny raised by the dare devil or runner goes into our hospice.”
The cost of sponsoring the events varies and can range from £50 for entering a marathon or £209 for tandem skydive or £350 for the Dragonboat race entry.  Your business support would be acknowledged in any press release relating to the event you sponsor and also mentioned on our social media pages.
