Can you help Doncaster's hospice?October 07, 2019
Doncaster’s hospice is looking for businesses to give it a helping hand to raise vital funds.
Hospice fundraisers are calling on Doncaster businessmen and women to help in one of two ways.
Firstly the hospice is looking for 300 local businesses who are happy to pledge to raise £1000 during the year as the hospice is always looking for support through donations to help it deliver great care for the families we support.
Secondly, they are looking for businesses to support local folk who want to take part in fund-raising stunts by paying their entry fees. For example it costs £209 to fund a tandem skydive, which goes on to raise hundreds or thousands of pounds for the hospice.
Currently anyone wanting to take part in a fund-raising event such as parachute jumping or a marathon has to either foot the bill themselves or take the cash out of the money they raise.
The cost of sponsoring the events varies and can range from £28 to several hundred. In return the business would receive a mention on the hospice website and in the press release issued to cover the fund-raising event.
Lindsey Richards, St John’s Hospice Fundraiser, said: “It would be excellent if we could get the support of local businessmen and women to sponsor events or to raise money for us.”
