How have local leaders in Doncaster responded to austerity, and what’s next for the city?
Join Centre for Cities and Doncaster Council at an event which will look ahead to the end of austerity for local areas around the country.
Centre for Cities Cities Outlook 2019 report highlighted the magnitude of the funding cuts faced by cities and the resilience their leadership demonstrated – improving local government efficiency and maintaining vital service provision for the most vulnerable, under mounting pressure and increased needs.
This event will be an opportunity to hear from local leadership including Mayor of Doncaster Ros Jones, North Doncaster MP Rt Hon Ed Miliband and Dan Fell, Chief Executive of Doncaster Chamber, about what Doncaster has achieved in spite of austerity, their ambitions and priorities in a new, if challenging, age.
The event is open to the public and invites the local business community, community groups and other interested residents to discuss and debate the opportunities for the borough, the actions the borough and business community can take, and consider the role that national government should play.
