darts are an award-winning team of artists, makers, musicians, performers and support staff who collaborate to design and deliver creative programmes which inspire learning, build good emotional health and strengthen professional practice for people of all ages who live, work or learn in Doncaster.
We have almost 30 years’ experience in Doncaster, we know the area and how taking part in enjoyable creative activity helps communities and individuals fulfil their potential by making positive changes, big and small, over the short and long term.
Our mission is to create art with people in Doncaster to improve life, learning and health.
Our home, The Point, is a friendly and welcoming place which is open to all and is where we make and share art. We carry this ethos to all our creative workshops across Doncaster.
Doncaster Little Theatre is community based theatre that is run by volunteers, who not only preform in shows but provide tech support, build sets and create costumes and props. We also open our doors to many other local drama groups, performers and musical acts and as well as providing support where needed, the members also run the theatre, providing front of house and box office services. The upkeep and general maintenance of the theatre is also undertaken by the members, along with fundraising and monthly workshops. We welcome members of all abilities and background and help them grow by offering training and support in all aspects of the theatre. This year, for the first time, we will be taking a dramatic piece to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, that has been especially written for us by a local playwright.
At Cast theatre we are proudly at the heart of Doncaster’s civic quarter staging world class performances and creating engaging outreach with an aim to break down the perceived barriers to arts participation. As a charity our extensive community work includes: supporting children and young people to learn through the arts, proudly producing the UK’s first and only fully BSL integrated pantomime, providing a home for artists to develop and make new work, making our productions and workshops accessible to all. Our objective is to bring people together to be proud of their town and we are working hard to bring the World to Doncaster and Doncaster to the World.
