Sponsor of the 'Large Business of the Year' category
Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a unique walkthrough safari park and a leading and multi award winning visitor attraction attracting over 670,000 visitors last year. It is also a major resource for education and the conservation and welfare of endangered animals, including the only polar bears in England, critically endangered Amur Leopards and Amur Tigers and many more. The latest development is an interactive Safari experience, Into Africa, which will give guests close views of giraffe and antelope and coming soon, Black Rhino. The Park employs a total of over 250 people at the height of summer season. In addition to the day visitors, the business has also developed in other areas: the Safari Village with retail outlets and café and events such as the new A Night in Africa, Halloween Adventure and the Christmas Fair, corporate events and weddings. Yorkshire Wildlife Park is also home to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation, the charity which was founded at the end of 2012 to carry out conservation and welfare work with animals at home and around the world.
CEO John Minion commented: YWP is delighted to sponsoring the Large Business of the Year award for the third year running and support the local business community. Doncaster is an exciting place to do business and the competition is always particularly fierce in this category, and this year the category has the potential to be even more exciting.
