A Success Doncaster beneficiary has become the youngest person in the country to set up shop in a shopping centre.
Rebecca Taylor will open The Original Lash & Nail Bar (formally Locks & Lashes), this Friday in the Frenchgate Centre from 11am with the official ribbon cutting at 12 noon by Success Doncaster’s Programme Manager Julie Wilson.
The salon, which is situated in the North Mall Gallery next to Carphone Warehouse, provides a wide range of treatments but specialises in nail and eyelash extensions. Other services include sunbeds, hair extensions and traditional beauty treatments.
Rebecca is a great example of a Success Doncaster beneficiary, after only starting to trade in December 2008 she has developed from home to renting a room at spa before finally making the move to the Frenchgate. She has benefited from many of the services on offer including business start-up advice, mentoring, financial advice and a Success Doncaster loan fund.
She said: “Without Success Doncaster I would not be where I am today. It has taken a lot of hard work to move my business so far in such a short period of time but it has been completely worth it.”
Councillor Jonathan Wood, Cabinet Member for Business and New Enterprise, said: “What Rebecca has achieved in a little over a year is commendable, she shows the true spirit of Doncaster and the talent we have to offer.”
Friday’s launch will include a champagne reception for those in attendance and a range of canapés. All customers who make appointments on the day will receive a special discounted rate.
