Andy McKenna of Yorkshire Bank appointed as Doncaster Chamber Vice President
The Board of Doncaster Chamber met last night for the first time following the recent Annual General Meeting. The Board welcomed newly elected Directors David Morris (Doncaster Rovers), John Keers (Most Wanted UK Ltd), Kevin Kerley (Solutions 4 Cleaning) and Mark Appleyard (Mark Appleyard Limited) and as one of its first items of business the Board elected Andy McKenna as the incoming Vice President.
Andy McKenna of Yorkshire Bank in Doncaster has been a member of the Board since 2007, has been Chair of the Audit Committee for the last two years and was re-elected to the Board at the recent AGM.
Current Chamber President, Nigel Brewster, said: “I would like to welcome all new Directors to the Board and I am sure that they will play an invaluable role in driving our Chamber of Commerce forward in its mission to represent all Doncaster business and champion our town’s economy.”
Nigel went on to comment, “I would like to congratulate Andy McKenna on his appointment as Vice President. Andy has done a sterling job as Chair of the Audit Committee in what have been very testing times and I am sure he will demonstrate the same commitment, professionalism and character in his new role as Vice President of Doncaster Chamber. I am confident he will be a great ambassador for the business community in Doncaster both locally, regionally and nationally and will play a key role in highlighting the great businesses and opportunities currently in our town.”
Nigel’s second term as President of Doncaster Chamber runs until December 2011 having been re-elected by the Board in December 2009.
Commenting on his appointment, Andy McKenna, said: "I am proud to have been appointed, by the Board of Directors, as Vice President. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Board for the last three years, and look forward to working even more closely with the Chamber and the businesses of Doncaster."
Howard Gannaway, Chief Executive of Doncaster Chamber, said: “Andy is an experienced Board member who has given unstintingly of his time as Director and Chair of the Audit Committee. I and my staff are looking forward to working even more closely with him in his new position.”
