Home -> News List -> There's 'snow' place like home for local travel expert
Doncaster based travel agent, Jim Renner is one of the few people left unaffected by the recent weather conditions. In fact, he has found his business booming as a result of the snow spell.
As Jim works from home, running his own travel business as part of the UK’s leading independent travel company Travel Counsellors, he has been able to continue booking holidays for his customers whilst many high street travel agencies and call centres have been closed.
Jim comments; “Running my own business from home means that whilst many of my neighbours and friends have been struggling to get to work in the snow I am already busy arranging holidays for my customers. I have had lots of phone calls from people wanting to get away from the terrible weather, many of whom couldn’t leave their own homes because of the conditions! I have also been on hand for those customers affected by the airport closures and flight cancellations, and have been able to make alternative travel arrangements for them whilst offering advice and general support.”
Jim is one of over 750 professional Travel Counsellors located throughout the UK, with a further 400 agents based overseas. The award winning travel company has always recognised the importance of providing customers with a unique and highly personal level of service and was the first company in the UK to enable the very best professional travel agents like Jim to work from their own home and provide their customers with an unparalleled level of personal service and advice.
As a result Jim has seen his business go from strength to strength, despite the reports of doom and gloom on the high street. He has access to award winning technology and hundreds of travel suppliers, hotels and airlines. In addition, Travel Counsellors places all customer money in a financial trust, meaning that all Jims’s customers are 100% financially protected from supplier failure, an issue which has become even more prominent in today’s uncertain climate.
Jim commented, “Working from home means that I am not only able to devote more time to my friends and family, but also to my clients. The snow may have been bad news for a lot of people, but it certainly wasn’t for me!”
