Super cyclists on top form

The talent, dedication and commitment of young cyclists from across the country was showcased last weekend (Saturday 22 October), as The Keepmoat Stadium hosted its first ever Doncaster Wheelers Supercross event.

The riders, some as young as six years of age, were faced with an extremely tough and hilly course, built on the landscaped grassland backdrop of the stadium.
Local law firm, Atherton Godfrey was delighted to show support for the event by sponsoring the Under 8, Under 10 and Under 12 categories.

Charles Godfrey, senior partner said: “What a great way to kick off the school half-term. We are delighted to support this very exciting event.
“There has been renewed interest in cycling as a sport, no doubt helped along by the international successes of The GB Cycling Team.”

Thrills and excitement were in full supply as the riders took on the challenge of not only cycling against the clock, but also tackling hills and dismounting to cross obstacles set along the course.

Huge congratulations to all the winners, including Doncaster sisters, Amelia and Sophie Morrey, who finished first in the Girls U10 and U8 categories. Find us on Facebook if you’d like to see more photos from the day.
