SINGLE DAD ARTHUR THE MEERKAT STORMS TO VICTORY!

SINGLE DAD Arthur the meerkat won by a landslide vote in a poll at Yorkshire Wildlife Park - being crowned the safari park's top dad by a huge 62%.

In celebration of Father's Day, fans and visitors pledged their support by voting for the safari park's most deserving animal dad. And here are the results...
 
1st PLACE: SINGLE DAD Arthur the meerkat – has seven babies from two litters. Boris, Bandit and Bart make up litter one, followed by Cheese, Crackers, Chutney and Chomp from litter two. Arthur recently split up with wife Anne, and moved in with the Mongoose with his sons after Anne threw him out and stayed put in the marital home with the girls.  62% of you chose ARTHUR as top dad!

2ND PLACE: LONG SUFFERING DAD OF TEENAGERS Cezar – has Ares and Adel to put up with – they are lion equivalents of teenage hooligans. 14% of you hoped the terrible teens would give CEZAR some peace!

3RD PLACE: TINK the male ring tailed lemur, dad to three babies – Crunchie arrived last year, followed by twins earlier this year. 12% of you voted to give TINK a dad's day boost!

4TH PLACE: SUPERDAD Braveheart, the Lechwe Antelope; top dad in the Park in terms of numbers – having had 11 offspring since he arrived in 2009, courtesy of his harem! 9% of you thought BRAVEHEART deserved the prize

5TH PLACE:ARTHUR, the Chapman’s Zebra. Single dad to one-year-old son Clive, whose mum Dream sadly died at the end of last year. Arthur and Clive have recently been joined by two other zebras, Tarragon and Zeus. 3% of you wanted to crown this ARTHUR your winner - but he lost out to the other ARTHUR!
