Reacation: 2Co Energy has completed the purchase of Powerfuel Power

2Co Energy has completed the purchase of Powerfuel Power, Councillor Jonathan Wood, Doncaster Council's Cabinet Member for Business and Regeneration, said:

“The purchase of the Hatfield Carbon Capture and Storage project by 2Co Energy is tremendous news for Doncaster. The deal puts Doncaster at the forefront of innovative energy production and storage technology and drives our energy sector forward. This unique project will be a real boost for the economy.”

Howard Gannaway, CEO of Doncaster Chamber said:

"The Chamber welcomes this news as yet another indication of Doncaster’s exciting economic future.  Coming hot on the heels of the good news about the Sheffield City Region Gateway project - the road linking Robin Hood Airport with the M18 - it shows that Doncaster is again developing some real momentum in relation to economic development.

 "This investment has protected a large number of jobs - which is critical in challenging economic times - and will also help to create further highly skilled jobs as the project evolves - a lot of partnership work has already been undertaken to ensure that local people can access those jobs where possible and we hope that company will continue this approach.
