Printing.com supporting the International Year of Biodiversity

2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity, which means there has never been a better time for companies to get involved in environmental initiatives. Ahead of the game are national UK print company Printing.com who, in the past several years, have planted over 57,000 trees. Their tree planting activity has made an outstanding contribution to the environment and is helping the UK to meet its biodiversity targets.

The company plant a tree for every 20 orders they receive, which means they are quickly moving towards their target goal of 100,000 trees. The planting is fulfilled through Printing.coms partner Tree Appeal, a marketing company who facilitate tree planting on behalf of environmentally responsible businesses across the country.

Working with Tree Appeal, Printing.com plant trees in primary schools throughout the UK and Ireland. Trees act as a valuable learning resource, helping to educate the younger generation on important environmental issues like biodiversity, as well as encouraging an interest in wildlife and the changing seasons. Planting trees in schools enable teachers and pupils to experience a hands-on approach to environmental education.

In late 2009, Tree Appeal and their patron, Professor David Bellamy, joined Printing.com representatives on a whistle stop tour across the country, planting thousands of saplings in regional schools.

Printing.com are committed to sustainable business, placing a strong emphasis on their environmental commitments. Their tree planting initiative with Tree Appeal is set to continue long into the future, with the aim of promoting a greener world and a better life for all.
