New Doncaster Chamber CEO will make Doncaster an inspiring place to do business

Doncaster Chamber is proud to announce the appointment of Howard Gannaway to the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Having spent nineteen years as an active Board Member for Doncaster Chamber, Howard will commence his new role at the beginning of March, leaving his previous employment as Research Fellow in Financial Education at NIACE (National Institute of Adult Continuing Education). He will lead the 24-strong team and continue to build upon the Chamber’s achievements so far.

Nigel Brewster, President of Doncaster Chamber, said: “I am delighted to welcome Howard to the role of CEO at Doncaster Chamber and I am confident that his vast business experience and knowledge of the Chamber will bring a great deal of wealth to the organisation and subsequently to all our Members.  Howard has a background that will allow him to quickly understand the issues facing our Member businesses and will also enable him to work well with local partner organisations for the benefit of the Borough.”

Howard is a well known figure within the Doncaster business community, having been Partner at Bawtry-based Financial Planning practice ‘The Consultancy Group’ for fourteen years. Graduating from Cambridge University with an MA in Archaeology and Anthropology, Howard also has a background in teaching and investment consultancy.

Speaking on his vision for Doncaster Chamber, Howard said: “My ultimate aim is to make Doncaster an inspiring place to do business! I believe that developing the Borough economically is a great starting point for our contribution to the prosperity of the whole region.

As a Chamber we can help shape the development of the economy, but only with the backing and support of our Members. I have set my sights on the 2000 Member milestone and will work with the Chamber team and existing Members to help achieve it.  As a result the private sector really will have a strong voice in the Borough. I would encourage any business in Doncaster to contact me to discuss how we can improve their Chamber.”
