New Cenfra to drive food industry

The Centre for Food Robotics and Automation Ltd (CenFRA) has announced the appointment of a new managing director to spearhead its drive to boost the uptake of robotics and automation within the food and drink manufacturing centre.

Steve Blazye brings with him an impressive wealth of experience to the Doncaster-based organisation following his time in industrial engineering, specialist heat treatment and robotic integration systems.

His chief role will be to ensure that CenFRA continues to strengthen its beacon status as a leading centre of excellence for automation in food and drink by offering its unrivalled knowledge and expertise to all sectors of the industry - from large multi national corporations through to small independently run businesses.

To meet this objective Mr Blazye will be taking a proactive approach to raising the Yorkshire Forward funded company's profile - promoting CenFRA's extensive project support and management services for the food manufacturing sector, which includes intricate simulation and bespoke machine design capabilities.

Another key area for Mr Blazye will be to bolster CenFRA's relationships with both equipment manufacturers and food and drink industry experts through the development of the company's Technical Advisory Group (TAG).

The TAG ensures CenFRA has access to the latest market information and technology trends in automation and robotics, invaluable knowledge that Mr Blazye is confident will help him drive the business forward, which in turn will help companies in the UK food and drink industry become world beaters.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Blazye said: "There are exciting times ahead for CenFRA and I am delighted to be part of this thriving organisation. I believe passionately in CenFRA's role within the food and drink industry, which I consider to be vital to ensuring its future sustainability and competitiveness.

"I am very much looking forward to the exciting challenges and aim to invigorate CenFRA towards becoming indispensable to helping UK food businesses improve their efficiencies."
