Masterclass ensures your event is a winner

Masterclass ensures your event is a winner Event managers are to be given the tips and techniques to ensure continued excellence in an age of austerity - by some of the best in the business.

The masterclass will include workshops by the managing director of Doncaster Racecourse and the woman who created Showzam, a festival of circus magic held annually in Blackpool.

The pair, Mark Spincer and Vanessa Toulmin, will both give events professionals a primer in how to make their event a success despite budget cuts.

Organiser Phil Crowther, from the Sheffield Business School at Sheffield Hallam University, said: "It is likely that many event organisers will see their budgets squeezed in the new year and for professionals to learn the skills of evaluation and delivery to make sure they are able to deliver success in restricted circumstances.

"The events industry is a growing one and so this master class will bring together  the random elements of the sector and increase the professionalism of events management."

Phil has already  established the Events Management Hub at Sheffield Hallam to bring professionals together.

The event, on Friday 14 January also features Mike Richmond<http://www.rem-events.com/the_team/mike_richmond.php> from REM Events, voted Event Organiser of the Year on three occasions.

Talks will discuss how to plan large outdoor events and festivals, event venue management and event evaluation.

The master class will also include a series of workshops which will provide delegates with the opportunity to debate ideas and share their own challenges and successes with peers from the event industry.

Phil added: “The master class is a great opportunity for event organisers to learn from leading event specialists and discover new ways to deliver more-for-less in the challenging economic climate. Attendees will gain real-world practical skills that they’ll be able to implement immediately.”

The Event Management Master Class is presented by The Event Management Hub at Sheffield Business School and runs in partnership with Welcome to Yorkshire and Sheffield City Council. Prices start from just £39 including lunch, tea and coffee.
