Over the years, regulation has been having a greater and greater impact on our businesses, taking more of your time filling out forms rather that growing your business. That’s why we’re taking real action to reduce the burden that regulation places on your business.
In some cases however, it is not regulation itself which causes problems, but the inspection and enforcement regime that goes with it. Inspection and enforcement are the most visible parts of regulation and I want to make sure that we do all we can to get Government off your back, whilst making sure we protect consumers, employees and the environment.
To do that, we need your help. We want to hear about your experiences of enforcement: what you would like to see changed (where it is bad), or what should be encouraged and kept (where enforcement is good).
BIS, is holding a meeting on Wednesday 31st August at the BIS Offices, 2 St Paul’s Place, 125 Norfolk Street, Sheffield S1 2FJ starting at 2.00 pm and this is your opportunity to tell us what you think we need to do to change the way regulation is enforced.
If you are able to attend, please confirm your place with Tom Poynton by emailing Thomas.poynton@bis.gsi.gov.uk or telephoning 020 7215 0252.
