Love Where You Live

Do you have a member of staff that gets involved in community activities? Do you hold litter picks around your premises?  We are looking for businesses that like to show a bit of love for Doncaster’s environment!

Doncaster is one of 10 authorities backing Keep Britain Tidy’s new national Love Where You Live campaign.  This aims to inspire individuals, businesses, groups and organisations to think about their communities and take personal responsibility for the local environment.

Across the borough we are trying to get 14,000 people and 150 organisations involved over the next 3 years so this will be a high profile campaign with lots of coverage in the local media.  There is no charge for involvement in Love Where You Live.

Howard Gannaway, Chief Executive of Doncaster Chamber said: “Everyone who does business in Doncaster knows what a fantastic place it is.  Many of our members already do regular litter picks and tidy ups in their communities.

“I would encourage all businesses to back this campaign, show how much you love Doncaster and get some recognition for your efforts to look after our local environment.”

Councillor Cynthia Ransome, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “Love where You Live is all about empowering local people to take pride in their communities.

“Doncaster Council works tirelessly to keep the borough looking its best.  We all have a responsibility to care for the environment and make sure it is not spoilt by litter.”

If you want to get involved in Love where You Live and would like to publicise a litter pick please contact Laurence Summers in Doncaster Council’s Press Office on 01302 862 353 email laurence.summers@doncaster.gov.uk
