Green Energy Solutions UK Ltd (GES) of Bentley, Doncaster, have been accredited by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) to install biomass boilers.
The government has been set a strict target to reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by 60% before 2050, and biomass is certain to be a major factor in the UK’s drive for developing the use of renewable energy sources.
Biomass, as a renewable energy source, is biological material from living, or recently living organisms. As an energy source, biomass can either be used directly, or converted into other energy products such as biofuel.
Managing director of GES, Marcus Payne, said: “As a company we are passionate about the benefits of using renewable energy in our homes and places of work.
“It’s no secret that the fossil energy sources like oil and coal we use nowadays will be totally exhausted in the not too distant future.
“Biomass boilers are a very environmentally friendly, safe and convenient way of heating the home using wood pellets as fuel.”
A wood-fuelled boiler could save you almost £600 a year compared to electric heating and will benefit from the £950 Renewable Heat Premium Payment if the installation is carried out prior to 31st March 2012.
The Renewable Heat Incentive is now available for all commercial biomass installations and will soon be available for domestic properties, and form part of the government’s proposed Green Deal.
