As Brit band ‘Scouting for Girls’ forthcoming live concert at Doncaster Racecourse draws near, organisers are urging fans to pre book their tickets to ensure that the course is ready to give them a great nights’ entertainment.
The chart topping trio, who went to number one with ‘This Ain’t A Love Song’, are set to play on Saturday 14 August at Town Moor, following the afternoon race meeting.
Sharon Bennett, Marketing & Communications Manager, said it was a real coup for the racecourse to bring one of the most popular bands in the UK to Doncaster and fans would be in for a treat.
“But we would ask anyone wanting to see this fantastic band perform on stage to pre-book their tickets rather than just turning up on the day of the show.
“That is what many people did when the X-factor finalists appeared here in May and while we were delighted and more than able to accommodate the crowd, we were unprepared for the huge number of people who turned up on the evening without pre-booking it far exceeded any previous meeting in terms of ‘walk up’s on the night. It’s vital that we are able to prepare for our audiences’ catering and washroom requirements.
“The stands at Town Moor hold up to 30,000 so there is plenty of space for customers but it’s better for us to know numbers in advance so that we can provide sufficient food and drink concessions and washroom facilities.
“It allows us to offer a much better experience for fans,” she added.
Following the release of their top selling debut album in 2007, the London band, fronted by exuberant showman Roy Stride, have had a string of contagious hits such as ‘She’s So Lovely’, ‘Heartbeat’, ‘It’s Not About You’ and ‘Elvis Ain’t Dead’.
These hits, coupled with their inimitable stage persona, make Scouting For Girls one of the most popular bands around at the moment, with their appeal spanning all ages from teens upwards.
Ticket prices for this event, which includes admission to the afternoon race meeting and the live outdoor concert, start at £25 for the Grandstand Enclosure, £35 for the County Enclosure and £50 for the Premier Enclosure.
