Doncaster Southern Gateway – White Rose Way Improvement Scheme Phase 1

As part of the ongoing works to upgrade White Rose Way to a dual carriageway, a number of road closures will be required in December and over the Christmas period.

White Rose Way will be closed between Potteric Carr and Ladybank Roundabout’s, see plan on reverse, from 9pm until 6:00am on the 7th, 10th, 18th and 19th December, from 9pm until 8:00am on the 17th December and from 9pm on Saturday 24th December 2011 until 6:00am on Tuesday 27th December 2011.

A number of adjoining side roads, Carolina Way, Wisconsin Drive, Carolina Court will also be closed over this period but access for employee’s will be maintained.

Advance signing detailing the closure dates will be in place 2 weeks in advance of the first closure along the affected route.

The closures are being implemented to enable the steel beams for the new bridge over the East Coast Mainline to be lifted into position, this is the only time Network Rail will allow these works to take place.

If works are completed ahead of time the road will be reopened to traffic.

During these closures there will be no access in to Doncaster from the M18 Junction 3 for large vehicles over 7.5 tonnes. Drivers are advised to find an alternative route.

Diversion routes will be signed but if you would like to find out more information about the proposed works and how you will be affected DMBC will be holding an informal question and answer ‘drop in’ session at the site cabins on Mallard Way. You will be able to call in anytime between 1pm and 4pm on 2nd November 2011 and speak to a member of the Council’s project delivery team.

I should be obliged if you would forward me details of your opening times over the Christmas period and inform your clients of the proposed disruption.

I should like to apologise for the inconvenience these works will cause and assure you we will endeavour to complete the works as quickly as possible.
