Doncaster Racecourse & Exhibition Centre is set to attend a major international event exhibition in London, where it will showcase what the renowned venue has to offer visitors from across the UK and overseas.
International Confex, where the racecourse will be exhibiting, takes place from 1 – 3 March at Earls Court in London. The total attendance for the three day show is likely to be in excess of 15,000, with senior event management professionals gearing up to walk the floor in order to find the best venues for their companies and clients.
A recent report has indicated that the business and events industry, comprising of elements such as corporate hospitality, conferences and meetings, is worth approximately £36bn to the UK economy.
The strength of the sector is clearly reflected in the offering at Doncaster Racecourse & Exhibition Centre, which in recent years has developed its off the track product to a level on a par with its world famous horse racing programme, seeing a £34m investment in its facilities in 2007.
And the impact on the local economy and South Yorkshire’s burgeoning events and tourism sectors is clear, with the racecourse attracting hundreds of events and hundreds of thousands of visitors to the area every year.

In terms of attendances, Doncaster has great flexibility and can accommodate intimate meetings of small groups of delegates, up to vast crowds in excess of 25,000. Its impressive Grandstand houses 3,400msq of purpose built exhibition space, along with four floors of contemporary high quality conference and meetings space with break-out facilities.
The venue also boasts a picturesque setting nestling on Doncaster’s Town Moor and possesses extensive outside events space and free car parking. Along with a dedicated in house events and catering teams, the venue also comes equipped with a 30 room lodge available to event staff for overnight accommodation.
And crucially, positioned right in the heart of England the venue is in easy striking distance of major cities like Sheffield, Leeds and Nottingham, is close to four international airports and is just 90 minutes by train from London.
