Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton has praised a local entrepreneur for taking advantage of Government support to set up a new business despite the difficult current economic climate.
Steve Patania from Doncaster opened the doors to his Wheatley Retail Park coffee house on Wednesday 28th October and the business, part of the Esquires Coffee Houses chain, is already proving a sure-fire hit with local shoppers.
Steve is the latest in a number of other entrepreneurs across the UK who have joined Esquires’ network of 29 stores. The franchise continues to grow at an impressive pace having recently reported a 3.2 % average year on year sales growth across the UK.
In order to get his coffee shop off the ground, Steve took advantage of the Government’s Enterprise Finance Scheme, and Rosie Winterton is keen for other budding local entrepreneurs to see what support is available to them.
“I wanted to congratulate Steve on his new business venture,” says Rosie.
“We have been living through difficult economic times but it is important that people are aware that support is available. Steve was able to set up his business by accessing the Government’s Enterprise Finance Scheme. However, businesses can also get free advice through Business Link Yorkshire or maybe given more ‘Time To Pay’ taxes.
“Entrepreneurs like Steve should be given the support they need to set up their businesses. That is the best way to help drive the recovery in Doncaster and South Yorkshire.”
Steve added: “I’d like to thank Rosie Winterton for her ongoing support which, together with the help I’ve received from the Esquires Coffee House franchise, has allowed me to make this business dream a reality.
“I can only urge other business folk in the area to follow my lead and call upon the many resources, which are readily available, to help businesses like mine get up and running.”
