Doncaster company shows the way in business growth

Rachael Ellis developed a rough business plan whilst sat on a beach in Spain, in 2007. She designed the services of Ocurem, who are now a leading company in the complex world of procurement. She went back to work the following week, handed in her notice and hasn’t looked back since!  

Ocurem helps local businesses with their procurement process for bidding and tendering for contracts. The help could be either on training how to respond to tenders and/or searching for suitable tenders. Anything that involves the buying of goods or services Ocurem can be there to offer their expert support and guidance. 

Rachael started her business working form a tiny box room. Since 2007, her company has grown significantly and they are just about to move into new offices. Rachael’s latest addition to her team of five, is Katie Kirkbride, who is an apprentice (see photograph).

Rachael puts her success down to continuous hard work and having dedicated, reliable staff. She feels that her staff are her greatest asset, always providing the best possible level of customer service and support.  Ocurem works with any size business and have worked with lots of high street brand names on large value contracts. Their largest contract win to date on behalf of a client was £69 million for the defence sector.  

Ocurem’s latest product is a Tender Tracker System. This has been developed in response to feedback from clients who felt they struggled with organising and finding suitable, if any, available contract tenders.  This is a CRM system that is able to organise, sort and manage tenders and can save clients time in identifying their best prospects. This product has only recently been launched but has already been used by 350 businesses.
