Dickinson Wood Solicitors had a fabulous day entertaining 60 guests at the Vale Of York Polo Club at Misson, near Bawtry, earlier this month.
The sun had his hat on all day and the champagne was flowing until 10pm at night for those who were still standing.
As Kay Wood threw in the ball to start the game at 2pm, with team Dickinson Wood resplendent in their shirts sponsored by Dickinson Wood and consisting of two of their very own well known long serving employees - Linda Baughan and conveyancer, Russell Baughan losing their first game narrowly to Stratstone, but winning their second game beating Caddy Consultants of Doncaster.
The Team finally finishing a respectable third in the tournament with Stratstone the winners and The Crown at Bawtry in second place, all guests were enthralled at the fast and furious polo game many of whom had never seen polo played before.
Later, as the picnic buffet featuring a mouth watering selection of Toppings famous pies was enjoyed by all, the champagne opening using the old style military method of “the sword” was in full swing with many wanting to try their hand.
As guests sampled a ride on one of the polo horses, kindly supplied by Linda Baughan, others went on the field to practice on Woody the wooden polo horse used for practice at the Vale of York Club.
The day wasn’t just about polo, food, champagne, and fun it was a charity event which raised a massive £ 650.00 on the day for the amazing Canine companions who were in attendance to show how their beautiful dogs help the disabled by fetching mobile phones to the wheelchair or pressing alarm buttons when help is needed. Every penny raised will be used to buy and train new puppy.
Dickinson Wood and the Vale of York Polo Club expressed their thanks to everybody who gave money generously for this wonderful charity.
It is most likely that many Doncaster businesses will have been closed on the Monday as staff recovered from the effects of Champagne abuse however Dickinson Wood were in business as usual offering the very best in conveyancing and matrimonial services.
Rumor has it that Kay Wood may well be the seen brandishing a polo mallet and whip in the near future!
