BuyDoncaster – Hire The Flying Scotsman

A new Doncaster based venture, Doncaster Laptop Hire, has decided to honour the area’s history by naming its own stock of laptops for hire after the many steam engines built in the borough. Local groups, clubs and businesses across Doncaster can now bring The Flying Scotsman into their offices!

The Flying Scotsman is yet another example of why local businesses should put BuyDoncaster at the top of their agenda. With a wide variety of meeting venues across Doncaster, one of the issues groups experience is the logistics of bringing everyone together with the right kit for a modern training exercise.

The stock of corporate laptops is aimed at trainers, professionals and companies within the borough who need IT hardware for short periods - a day, a week or a month.

Doncaster Laptop Hire’s Managing Director, Douglas Wallace said: “This initiative makes laptop hire an affordable option to local creatives, freelancers and IT Trainers by giving local businesses the ability to hire and buy in equipment that facilitates collaboration. Something that until now was unavailable.”

“Crucially the service will help raise awareness of local meeting venues and foster strong relationships with local businesses, strengthening Doncaster position as a place to do business!” added Douglas Wallace.

“We fully support the BuyDoncaster initiative! Doncaster Laptop Hire provides laptops for hire from as little as £ 2.50 per day over the month to inspire more enterprise to take place in the Borough - and ultimately put Doncaster at the heart of what is to be an ever expanding portfolio of services the town offers as it makes its steps to bid for City Status!” concluded Douglas Wallace.

Market trends towards behaving more environmentally friendly and putting sustainability into the supply chain have led to the development of a service which uses refurbished ex-corporate specification business laptops, that are being maintained to encourage people to hire-in the equipment they need at a rate that avoids any large capital expenditure.

Doncaster Laptop Hire first contract was with a LinkedIn Trainer and 4Networking Area Leader, David Emslie from Marketing Advice (http://www.getmarketingadvice.co.uk).  David  hired a group of laptops for a weeks worth of training seminar in Devon, demonstrating that Doncaster is a perfect stop off from Leeds on the way through to the South.

To keep the service fun, each machine has been named after steam engines manufactured in Doncaster including Gullimot, TheFlyingScotsman (named TheScotsman) and Silverlink.
