Business Yorkshire announces keynote speakers

Rachel Elnaugh, one of Britain's highest profile female entrepreneurs, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at the business breakfast session on the first day of Business Yorkshire (Doncaster Racecourse on 25th and 26th November). Andrew Barke, Agency Industry Head of Google, will address the audience at the breakfast session on the second day.

Other keynote speakers at Business Yorkshire include Brad Burton, founder of 4Networking, and Tim Roberts of I-Com. Elsewhere, Steve McCann, Marketing Controller of Hallmark Cards UK, appears courtesy of the Chartered Institute of Marketing which is supporting the exhibition and conference for the second year running.

At age 24, Rachel Elnaugh created the market leading experiences brand Red Letter Days on a shoestring budget from the front room of her home. Red Letter Days went on to generate over £100million in turnover in the 16 years that she ran it, and in doing so pioneered the UK's £250 million experiences sector. Then, in early 2005, Rachel shot to fame as one of the original Dragons in BBC TV's cult business show Dragons' Den.

Andrew Barke, of Google, will look at digital marketing during a time when marketing and consumer budgets are under huge pressure, which means that marketeers need to 'do more with less'. He will argue that digital media is an increasingly important part of the mix for brands communicating with target customers. But, he will explain, if businesses view digital as something to simply add to their media schedule, they will miss out.

Talking about the keynote speakers, Scott Hider, Managing Director at Nationwide Media Group said; “Our keynote speakers have been very popular in previous years and we know that this year’s line-up will be just as well received. They have years of business experience between them and will deliver seminars of great relevance to SMEs wanting to thrive in the current economic environment.”
