Boost for Mayor's charity

Big hearted Doncaster housing staff have raised £302 for the Doncaster Civic Mayor’s charity after staging a dress down day.

Staff at St Leger Homes of Doncaster – the organisation that manages around 21,000 homes for Doncaster Council – dug deep into their pockets to get the cash rolling in for the charity – and the sum will be allocated by the Mayor to the Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust.

Judith Jones, Deputy Chief Executive of St Leger Homes, said: “Staff love having dress down days and are always generous in giving donations to charity. We raised a fantastic sum this time for such a worthy cause.”

Civic Mayor of Doncaster, Cllr Ros Jones, added: “I am thrilled that the St Leger Homes' staff have made such a tremendous effort whilst raising funds for Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust, a charity I have chosen to support during my term of office. The work, research and resources provided by the Trust are vital in tackling this terrible disease that devastates so many lives. I cannot adequately express my gratitude to everyone involved and I am very proud of their achievements, well done!”
