BE PART OF THE NETWORKING EVENT OF THE YEAR - THE ICON WOMEN ‘BIG LUNCH’

Leading networking organisation and social enterprise, Icon Women, has announced details of its event of the year - the ‘Big Lunch’ - which will take place at the Mount Pleasant Hotel in Doncaster on Thursday 23rd June from 12 to 2.30pm.

The ‘Big Lunch’ will feature an inspiring, national keynote speaker in the shape of Penny Newman OBE, CEO of Platform 51 with guests treated to a two-course lunch.

Explains Emily Moncuit, founder and director of Icon Women: “We’re delighted to welcome someone of Penny’s calibre to Doncaster. She’ll be discussing what drives her to succeed in business whilst relieving social injustice in such as way that builds a sustainable organisation and I’m really looking forward to hearing her share her experiences.”

Until recently, Penny was CEO of Jamie Oliver Foundation responsible for business growth, development and increasing the social activities and support to vulnerable young people through the restaurant chain Fifteen. Prior to that she was the CEO of Cafedirect; the UK’s largest 100% fair-trade hot drinks company, and was awarded an OBE for her services to ethical business in 2008.

Continues Emily: “This event launches Icon Women’s partnership with Platform 51, a national organisation that supports girls and women of any age or background in England and Wales, by providing them with a platform to have their say and challenge discrimination. Over the next few months, Icon Women is looking to support the aims and objectives of Platform 51, by delivering informative news and events.”
