Active Partnerships

A meeting between Andrew Lees, Serco- HMP & YOI Doncaster and Roger Kirk & Tony Groundry, Active Copier Systems at a Doncaster Chamber, new members meeting sparked an idea, regards training opportunities for serving offenders.

They have now established a good working partnership, where by Roger took time out of his busy work load to deliver a Photocopier maintenance and repair course in HMP Doncaster to 6 serving offenders. This was a new experience for Roger, not only working in a prison, which can be a frightening prospect in itself for some, but delivering training for the first time, I think this is know as a “baptism of fire”.

The training was a great success and offers additional employability skills to offenders, Andrew and Roger plan to develop their partnership further and are looking at gaining accreditation for this training.
