The Government has announced that the National Minimum Wage will increase by 7p to £5.80p an hour for adults.
Commenting, Daniel Fell, Head of Policy at Doncaster Chamber, said:
“The Chamber pressed for a freeze of the minimum wage because of the severity of the recession and the staff cuts that many businesses have been forced into. We are pleased that the increase is only a modest one – it shows that the Low Pay Commission and the Government have largely understood the seriousness of the situation. A freeze in the National Minimum Wage would have been of more help to business”
