Design Manager, Queens Road Design Centre
Leah McMullen is a young, dynamic designer working at the Queens Road Design Centre (QRDC) where she is Design Manager. Having returned to Doncaster she is passionate about supporting the creative industries to create a vibrant place to live and work.
As part of the QRDC team behind the Doncaster Design Week initiative Leah recently co-hosted the ‘Lifting the lid on Doncaster’s design secrets’ with Wayne Hemmingway; an event aimed at encouraging regeneration through good design.
Leah is starting to get a reputation for bringing the voice of the Millennials who are looking for change in our town. A town that retains and attracts young talent rather than being a brain drain particularly for the creatives.
She studied fashion at Marbella Design Academy, followed by fashion and textile design degree at Essex University achieving a first class BA.
Leah has designed for womens wear clothing company Hobbs London, sold work at Paris Priemere Vison, along with designing hand knitted samples for designer knitwear company Crumpet England.
Incredibly interested in culture through design and inspiring young designers in Doncaster her long-term aim is to develop a high end fashion label.
