Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (SCR LEP) Board Member

Laura is a private sector board member for Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (SCR LEP), specialising in the digital economy and entrepreneurship. She sits on two executive boards at SCR on Business Growth, and Skills, Enterprise, and Education. Laura is currently pursuing a PhD at Sheffield University Management School in entrepreneurial ecosystems. 

Laura has a wide range of experience working with digital entrepreneurs across Sheffield City Region and more widely across the North of England. She was part of the founding team of Tech North (now Tech Nation) where she designed and ran Founders’ Network, a bespoke business support and peer-to-peer learning programme for early-stage entrepreneurs. She has worked closely with the team at Barnsley Digital Media Centre, running a networking / learning programme for Barnsley-based entrepreneurs and a design thinking programme for 11-14 year olds. She was part of the EU funded URBACT Tech Town project, led by Barnsley, working with 11 towns and cities across Europe to help them understand entrepreneurial ecosystems and how best local authorities can support digital entrepreneurs.
