On Friday 24th February 2012. The Chambers that comprise of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership will unite to hold the first ever Sheffield City Region Business Conference – Conference for Growth.

The event will take place at Barnsley Metrodome for half a day arriving at 8.45am for a 9.15am start, with lunch at 1.00pm.

The inaugural Sheffield City Region Business Conference will see the region’s businesses, politicians and partner organisations descend on the venue to set our regional agenda of priorities in 2012.

The conference will give you a unique chance to shape and mould regional business policy setting over the next year.  This interactive conference will feature:
•    Keynote speaker Rt Hon John Bercow MP, Speaker of the House of Commons.
•    Informative case studies relating to the three headline themes - Skills for Growth, Infrastructure for Growth and Conditions for Growth.
•    Interactive panel discussions featuring regional MPs, SYPTE, Senior Local Authority Officers, Council Leaders and the British Chambers of Commerce.

This event will launch a Statement of Business Priorities to businesses and partners alike and will be a precursor to a year round programme of campaign priorities covering the headline policy themes -with a view to fostering a better business environment for members over the next twelve months whilst simultaneously celebrating the City Region and businesses' contributions to it.

The headline policy themes will be as follows: Skills for Growth, Infrastructure for Growth and Conditions for Growth.  The document will include bullet point details about our key priorities under each of these themes which will provide us with a foundation to work on throughout the year, picking up on more detail some of the key issues the Statement of Priorities raise. At the conference itself, there will be panel discussions around the three policy themes with leading businesses, specialists and Chamber representatives.
