Gateway to the Sheffield City Region

Doncaster Chamber recently conducted a major campaign to secure Government backing for an infrastructure project that could transform the regional economy. This campaign was backed by Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, the Cutlers Company of Hallamshire, EEF and the Federation of Small Business, all of whom collectively represent the views of over 10,000 private sector businesses.

The bid to secure Government funding, through the Regional Growth Fund, for the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) which will connect Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield with the M18, was a major success, attracting well over 500 business signatories - an unprecedented level of support for a Regional Growth Fund Bid.
